the heat under the moon
came all too soon

drift in apathy
where went our alchemy?

leave me there distraught
my hopes were overwrought
no second thought

to sleep under your melting song
feathers of geese and swan
to rest upon

to the sun entrust
our wings have burned to dust
ashes and rust

I'd hoped that you would follow me in flight
but here we sit amid the burn and blight
overwhelm my every sense
wax melted into honey and incense
